Performing Arts

St Joseph's School Papanui has a proud and distinguished performing arts history. This is largely due to the talented and dedicated staff we have at our school that have a passion for music, dance and drama.

This year the school is lucky to have Mrs Jacque Culling lead the choir that practices once a week in the school hall.

The St Joseph's School Choir performs at a variety of events including, school liturgy, school mass, the North-west Choir Festival and the Christchurch Schools' Music Festival.

Information and resources for the choir are available on the choir google site. To access this site link on the link below.

Our school is lucky to be involved in Showquest.

" Showquest is a new performing arts platform for schools, consisting of a nationwide series of events produced by Rockquest Promotions Ltd, with the support of the Ministry of Education,  that will support schools and students from year 1 – 13 to showcase music, drama and dance."
This year Mrs Walsh, our Performing Arts Leader, is working with a large number of students from year 6 - 8 who have expressed interest in being a part of this exciting event.

Full School Production:
Our annual full school production is always one of the highlights on our school calendar.  All students from years 1 - 8 are given the opportunity to shine on stage and showcase their many different talents.  This not only provides our students with something fun and exciting to look forward to, but allows them to experience the Performing Arts programme in a meaningful and purposeful way.
